Our Story
The WAVE Coalition was founded by a passionate team of board members who recognized the urgent need for conservation, environmental awareness, and animal welfare. With a combined experience of over 20 years in environmental education, the team is committed to not only teaching about our planet's challenges but actively working to address them. The WAVE Coalition was born from a desire to bridge the gap between education and action, empowering individuals to make a positive impact through hands-on research, immersive programs, and community involvement.
Our board members come from diverse backgrounds, including education, animal care, and zookeeping, bringing a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the coalition. Their dedication to spreading accurate, science-based information drives our mission to foster a deeper understanding of wildlife conservation and environmental stewardship. Through innovative projects, community events, and research initiatives, we are dedicated to creating a future where conservation and education work hand in hand to address the stressors our planet is facing.
DiveOne X WAVE
The WAVE Coalition’s Board originally established DiveOne, LLC., which had an initiative to provide high school students with the opportunity to earn scuba certifications, develop their skills, and gain hands-on experience in marine science through immersive travel programs. With the founding of The WAVE Coalition, DiveOne’s core mission was absorbed and continues through dedicated programs focused on expanding opportunities for underrepresented students. This initiative equips students with valuable certifications, field experience, and career-building opportunities in marine science and conservation.
